Here's another; a bit dressier than the burlap. This is made of a white on white shell patterned fabric. Down the center I've attached pleated satin, satin bow and sand dollar. This was a custom order. The person I made these pillow covers for needed the fabric to be washable and did not want the appliques ironed on due to the chemical. Highly allergic was the reason for the special request. These are classically nautical with boxed corners, blue and white ticking embellished with a nautical applique. I'm really pleased how they turned out and enjoyed making them.

This is still one of my favorite fabric combinations. These beach cottage pillow covers are created in Robert Allen Indoor/Outdoor Beachfront Marine and Seashell Bongo Marine fabric. The pillow back is the same fabric with a covered zipper closure. This pillow cover fits an 18" square pillow form. Fabric is 100% Poly. Robert Allen care information: Wipe with damp cloth. Fade resistant up to 500 hours of direct sun exposure. Looks great with other coordinating pillows.

Nautical Pillow with Grommets and Dock Line

This is by far my favorite nautical pillow to date! However -- I really need to find a supplier for the grommeted webbing. It's way too expensive to buy retail. I'll never make a dime on this pillow unfortunately. But, it was fun to make so that counts for something :-) A true nautical classic in navy. Dock line is laced through grommets to create this very unique center. The pillow back is solid blue with a covered zipper. Wow, where did December go!
I've been busy so far this month experimenting with burlap for everything from pillows to table top. Here's a table runner I made out of an off-white burlap. I hand cut an applique using the waves from my Float logo! I was hoping I could use the Ultra Hold Heat and Bond, but for some reason it does not bond consistently with the burlap. So I ended up sewing these appliques onto the runner. I also really like the look of weaving ribbon into the burlap. It adds a nice touch.
